Accounts just for kids
Pennsylvania Uniform Transfer to Minors Act (PUTMA) accounts let kids start a savings account for which only the Custodian (i.e., parent, grandparent, interested persons) can conduct financial transactions. The funds in the account are used only for the benefit of the Minor without tax liability. PUTMA accounts are opened with the child’s Social Security number and personal information.
Primary Savings and Checking accounts with a joint owner (age restrictions apply) are great for children who are starting to work and need an account for direct deposit or access to a Visa® Debit Card*.
