As a People First member age 18 or older you can help protect your family’s financial future with Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance underwritten by Minnesota Life Insurance Company. In addition to the $1,000.00 Credit Union Paid coverage paid for you by People First, you can purchase Additional Coverage at group rates.
- You are pre-authorized for Additional Coverage up to $300,000
- Your acceptance is guaranteed – No Medical Exams or Health Questions
- Benefits are paid to your beneficiary if you die from a covered accident
You cannot be turned down for the Credit Union Paid Coverage — or any additional coverage you may select. All coverage reduces by 50% at age 70 and older, regardless of age at enrollment.
Remember, the $1,000.00 coverage is at no cost to you. It’s complimentary of People First.

Hospital Accident Protection (HAP) Insurance

With this Hospital Accident Plan Member Benefit, when a serious covered accident lands you in the hospital you can receive the following Cash Benefits:
- $1,800 a day Intensive Care Confinement, $900 a day Hospital Confinement

HOSPITAL ACCIDENT PROTECTION (HAP) INSURANCE FAQs
This insurance supplements your other coverage plans. In the event you are hospitalized because of an accident injury, HAP pays you cash for each day you are hospitalized.
No. The cash is paid directly to you, unless you say otherwise, to spend any way you choose. It’s designed to help defray the cost of hospitalization or the incidentals that result from an unplanned hospital stay.
Yes. You may designate a doctor, hospital, or anyone you choose.
No. This insurance pays for covered accidents only. Hospitalization due to sickness or disease is not covered.
No. There are no medical questions or physical exams required to qualify.
No. Your coverage is guaranteed, provided you are 18 years of age or older.
No termination age; however, benefits reduce to 50% at age 65, and reduce to 25% at age 75.
Recuperative Care Plan (RCP)
Provides cash benefits to the insured upon release from hospital, in the event the insured is hospitalized due to a covered accident or sickness.
Benefits:
- Guaranteed coverage; no medical exams or health questions.
- Benefits are paid in cash for up to 365 days.
- The first 60 days of coverage are FREE.
- Coverage is for recuperative care for accidents and sickness, some exclusions apply.
- Affordable group rates apply.
- Underwritten by Minnesota Life Insurance Company.
Eligibility:
- Insured and spouse: 18 and older.
- Immediate Family Member: spouse, domestic partner, parent, grandparent, sibling or child; and your spouse’s or domestic partner’s parent, sibling or child.
- No termination age, however, Recuperative Accident and Recuperative Sickness benefits reduce to 50% at age 70.

RECUPERATIVE CARE PLAN FAQs
This insurance supplements your other coverage plans. In the event your doctor keeps you in the hospital because of an accidental injury or sickness, RCP pays you cash while you get better for each day you are hospitalized by your doctor.
RCP picks up where HAP in-hospital insurance leaves off to cover out-of-pocket expenses when you are out of the hospital. Plus RCP adds “all-sickness” coverage even for pre-existing illnesses, pays extra “direct-to-you” cash in addition to any other insurance, and provides “get well” benefits paid in one lump sum upon discharge.
The cash is paid directly to you to help defray the cost of recuperation or the incidentals that result from an unplanned hospital stay. When you are home from the hospital, you can spend it to pay monthly bills, recovery expenses, or anything else you want.
No. This insurance pays you cash while you get well only for each day that your doctor has kept you in the hospital for covered accidents and sicknesses.
No. There are no medical questions or physical exams required to qualify.
No. Your coverage is guaranteed, provided you are 18 years of age or older.

GENERAL ACCIDENT AND HOSPITAL INSURANCE FAQs
The Plan Administrator is Affinion Benefits Group, LLC, a division of Affinion Group, the nation’s largest provider of direct response insurance programs.
The claims are processed within five days of the Plan Administrator receiving the appropriate information and documentation in their offices in Nashville, TN. Once processed, the claim is then forwarded to the underwriter for determination of benefits.
Share and Share Draft premiums will be automatically debited from your account quarterly/monthly. These transactions will be reflected on your statement.
It takes about 30 days from the time the enrollment form is received to process and issue the Certificate of Insurance.
The effective date is shown on your Certificate of Insurance.
